Hey gang,
Wanted to give everyone a heads up on the timing for the print release of the book. I've been having conversations with the printer for the last several weeks, and unfortunately they have informed me of delays in printing. The new window for receipt of the books is sometime in January. Depending on when I receive the books, this means I may not be able to get them in your hands until February.
This is understandably disappointing, and I promise you I was pushing as hard as I could to avoid this with the printer - but unfortunately, there's nothing we can do to expedite the printing and shipping on their end.
I know several backers were going to gift the books for the holidays, so here's what I'm going to do:
PHYSICAL REWARD BACKERS: Unfortunately there's not a lot I can do here for people who ordered the new book, since the printing delay is outside of my control. I also wouldn't be able to afford to send non-book physical rewards in advance, since shipping costs would make that prohibitive. BUT, I do want to try to make this right, so as an apology for this delay I'm going to make the following....
DIGITAL REWARD BACKERS: There's a little more flexibility with the digital rewards, since the book is done and can be made available for download. As such, we can release the digital rewards on-time, which will be by or before December 21. If you ordered both physical and digital rewards, then you'll get your digital copy on time in December, and your physical rewards when they ship early next year.
I want to thank you all for your patience and support of this project, and for your understanding in this situation. I did all I could to try to course-correct with the printer, but unfortunately there were no options available to us. I hope these bonus rewards and revised schedule will help make this right. I cherish your support of my comic projects, and want to maintain the quality and consistency you have come to expect from my projects.
Thanks again, and I'm working to get these digital assets together ASAP. Stay tuned for more updates.
A quick update for our backers: I have finished putting the book together and have submitted it to the printer. We are currently on our second round of reviews of the proofs (which is not uncommon). I think we'll have it nailed down after this round, and then the printer can give me a more solid delivery date for the books so I can fill orders.
I'm very happy with the way this book came together. The new bonus stories look fantastic, we have an exclusive story about Albert learning about Yoga, and we've included some character design pages - something we've never done before!
I'll keep you posted as we get updates from the printer on the proofs and the delivery date. Stay tuned, and thanks again for supporting Albert the Alien vol 4!
